Clouds of smoke filled a Westchester Square home Saturday as neighbors watched their belongings go up in flames.<\/p>\n
The FDNY confirmed to News 12 that crews responded to a fire at 1636 Glover St. around 12:48 p.m. The fire started on the second floor of the three\u2011story home, and it took 79 firefighters and EMS personnel to bring it under control.<\/p>\n
When families were allowed back inside, some encountered hazardous conditions, with parts of their ceilings collapsing. Others walked through charred furniture, clothing and damaged walls.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel sad that my everything, my house, everything is explode,\u201d said tenant Amilu Islam.<\/p>\n
The father of three, who lived on the first floor for six years, said he was running errands when he received a call from his wife about the fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot a single thing I have to survive, everything is gone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
