A mass of dirty snow and ice beyond knee-high surrounds the stop. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"N7FMSRXXI5AO3I3Y4U5CBOGZ5M\">The employee additionally spotted heavy-duty equipment scooping bucketloads of crusty ice and thick snow away from the street near Hylan Boulevard and Chesterton Avenue, Oakwood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FHNTMSWKLNDGJHSC5ZE6FW3Z24\">The storm dumped over a foot of snow on the borough on Jan. 25, and with temperatures struggling to climb above freezing, folks have struggled to find parking spots and clear walkways. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q2UQURDFERB4LGCGUW5K7FQR3I\">A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Sanitation assured that the department continues to aid Staten Islanders in the cleanup. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Snow\" class=\"article__image-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/UJUQJCTCO5GOBLWWPSXCBQQRN4.jpeg\"  \/>Snow cleanup continues at Hylan Boulevard and Oak Avenue. We had a massive Staten Island operation out in full force <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/news\/2026\/01\/snow-cleanup-operations-underway-across-staten-island.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/news\/2026\/01\/snow-cleanup-operations-underway-across-staten-island.html\">this weekend<\/a>, widening bus lanes and reopening pathways between the sidewalks and streets at bus stops,\u201d the spokesperson said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"N32ENORWVNF7FFJIS4WNHHE2JA\">The spokesperson added, \u201cCitywide, we continue to have 2,500 Sanitation Workers on every 12-hour shift, as well as 500 hourly personnel focusing on this infrastructure.
