STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Residents should brace for frigid temperatures throughout the workweek, with wind chill values dropping to near zero degrees and a chance of snow arriving Friday.<\/p>\n

According to the National Weather Service<\/a>, the cold snap begins tonight with partly cloudy skies and temperatures falling to around 11 degrees. Northwest winds gusting up to 24 mph will create wind chill values between zero and 10 degrees.<\/p>\n

Monday brings sunny skies but little relief from the cold, with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values will remain between zero and 10 degrees as northwest winds continue to gust up to 21 mph.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will hover in the low 30s through Tuesday and Wednesday, with mostly sunny to partly sunny conditions. Overnight lows during this period will drop into the teens, with the coldest night expected Wednesday when temperatures fall to around 12 degrees.<\/p>\n

The week\u2019s most noteworthy weather event could arrive Friday afternoon, when there is a 30% chance of snow after 1 p.m. The high will reach near 30 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.<\/p>\n

The coldest conditions of the week are forecast for the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 20 degrees, followed by Saturday night temperatures plunging to around 4 degrees. Sunday rounds out the week with mostly sunny skies and a high near 18 degrees.<\/p>\n
