Other times, that same lucky timing will have you landing in a situation less important and far harder to explain.<\/p>\n Just the other day, TikToker @the.eats.village, a self-appointed restaurant reviewer (with a seeming focus on sandwiches<\/a>), was minding his own business. He was trying to film (as one does) a street review of a vodka cutlet sandwich, when he captured a lowkey utterly wild scene.<\/p>\n As he starts to describe why this Cello\u2019s<\/a> sandwich is so good (namely the vodka sauce), he can\u2019t help but interrupt himself with a laugh. Behind him, and clearly visible in the introduction to his video, is a cadre of four individuals, all of whom seem to be wiggling their way down the New York City street.<\/p>\n They\u2019re all dressed for winter in puffy jackets and warm hats, and they\u2019re down on their bellies. They are inching their way down the sidewalk. And some of the movements are vaguely swimming adjacent. It\u2019s giving winter-wrapped Michael Phelps. Seeing this scene, the TikToker says, \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on right there.\u201d<\/p>\n Commenters Want Context<\/p>\n According to the TikToker, the sandwich, loaded as it is with crispy chicken, creamy cheese, and on the perfect bread, \u201cis an absolute banger.\u201d But as tasty as it looks, the only thing the internet wants to talk about is the sidewalk swim team.<\/p>\n \u201cLiteral bar crawl happening here,\u201d succinctly observes Kathryn Ojeda (@kathrynrrhodes).<\/p>\n While Meg (@meggmay) says, \u201cGood to know food reviews survive the apocalypse.\u201d<\/p>\n But other users aren\u2019t so easily satisfied with a quick quip.<\/p>\n \u201cCan we circle back for just a moment,\u201d asks Sports Clips Haircuts (@sportsclipshaircuts).<\/p>\n Because here\u2019s the kicker: the TikToker finishes the review and never, ever refers back to the scene at the beginning of the video. He stays focused on his sandwich, ending with the admonishment: \u201cFind a way to go get one.\u201d<\/p>\n Would You Still Love Me If I Was A Worm?<\/p>\n So, what were the crawling folks doing, or trying to accomplish? No one seems to know. Though they\u2019ve popped up on multiple social media<\/a> accounts, there\u2019s no verified report of what they\u2019re trying to accomplish. Still, there is speculation. Some say it\u2019s a stunt. Others say it\u2019s a literal embodiment of a viral meme from 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n The meme?<\/p>\n \u201cWould you still love me if I was a worm<\/a>?\u201d<\/p>\n Which got a Halloween 2022 boost when supermodel<\/a> (and the queen of Halloween) Heidi Klum<\/a> wore full prosthetics to transform her into a humble (but gigantic) earthworm.<\/p>\n Who Is William Pope.L.?<\/p>\n UPDATE: The TikToker told BroBible that while at first he assumed the people \u201cwere tweakers,\u201d it \u201cturns out it was some performance art in memory of this guy William Pope.L.\u201d<\/p>\n You don\u2019t have to be an art world insider to know that NYC is the art capital of the world. You also don\u2019t have to be privy to the inner machinations of that world to understand that sometimes, what makes sense to artists, doesn\u2019t make sense to anyone else. Starting in the late \u201970s, in NYC, an artist began crawling through the city. The artist, William Pope.L.<\/a>, said that these performances, in which he \u201cgave up his verticality,\u201d were to draw attention \u201cto the people who exist in vulnerable positions on the street and in society.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t
