Baby Queen has shared her new single \u2018I Hope You Don\u2019t Remember Me\u2019.<\/p>\n
The London-based pop provocateur stole our hearts with her debut album, before disappearing back into the studio. Work on her second LP is ongoing, with Baby Queen deciding to share a sample of something new.<\/p>\n
Out now, \u2018I Hope You Don\u2019t Remember Me\u2019 is a conscious attempt to construct an antidote to the famous ballads about a fear of being forgotten. It\u2019s driven forwards by one of Baby Queen\u2019s most assured vocals, with the South African born artist embodying a kind of vivid melodrama<\/p>\n
Discussing the song\u2019s origins, she comments\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cThis song is about an urge to revoke my memory from somebody else\u2019s mind after perceived rejection (partly in defiance and partly out of shame) and have them be erased from my own in return. Whilst writing it, I was still trying to convince myself of what I was saying. I think a lot of the emotion comes from the fact that a big part of me didn\u2019t want to be forgotten, and\u00a0knew I wouldn\u2019t forget.\u201d<\/p>\n
