U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, recently released the 2026 Best Online Programs<\/a> rankings, the most in-depth evaluation of U.S.-based, degree-granting programs that are designed to be administered online.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In newly released rankings by U.S. News & World Report, online degree programs in The Peter J. Tobin College of Business<\/a>, The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies<\/a>, and The School of Education<\/a> at St. John\u2019s University<\/a> were all featured.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnline learning is no longer an alternative\u2014it is an essential part of how we fulfill our academic mission<\/a>,\u201d stated Simon G. M\u00f8ller, Ph.D.<\/a>, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. \u201cOur expanded commitment reflects a belief that innovation and access go hand in hand, enabling learners from diverse backgrounds to engage deeply with our faculty<\/a> and curriculum.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2026 edition of the U.S. News & World Report rankings for \u201cBest Online Master\u2019s in Business Programs\u201d recognized Tobin\u2019s Online Masters in Business programs with a ranking of #33; in the category for M.B.A. Online Programs, Tobin was ranked #50. The undergraduate business program landed at #98.<\/p>\n

For \u201c2026 Best Online Master\u2019s in Criminal Justice Programs,\u201d St. John\u2019s ranking came in at 48. The M.P.S. in Homeland Security and Criminal Justice Leadership<\/a> is one of many programs offered at The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies.<\/p>\n

The School of Education ranked #165 in the Best Online Master\u2019s in Education Programs.<\/p>\n

Online learning is a tangible part of the Strategic Plan Reimagined 2025\u20132028<\/a>. This plan aims to establish St. John\u2019s as a leader in market-driven online and flexible learning opportunities to create global pathways to student success, while expanding equitable access to educational opportunities here and abroad.<\/p>\n

According to U.S. News & World Report, the rankings focus solely on degree-granting programs offered online, including bachelor\u2019s programs and several master\u2019s-level disciplines: M.B.A.; business (non-M.B.A.); engineering; information technology (including computer science); criminal justice; education; and nursing.<\/p>\n

The methodologies<\/a> vary across disciplines, but all incorporate metrics that assess how well these programs are designed for distance learners and their effectiveness in awarding affordable degrees to traditional college-age students and nontraditional learners such as working parents, military service members, established professionals and lifelong learners on time.<\/p>\n
