A Brooklyn mother of four found dead inside inside a black plastic bag in a NYCHA apartment building had been chopped up, police said Monday.<\/p>\n
The death of Michelle Montgomery, 39, is being investigated as a murder though her cause of death has not yet been determined.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe found out last night she was chopped up,\u201d a distraught relative who declined to give her name told the Daily News. \u201cRight now everyone is just in shock.\u201d<\/p>\n
The discovery was made about 9:35 a.m. Sunday by NYCHA workers in the trash compactor room at a Borinquen Plaza building on Bushwick Ave. near Seigel St. in East Williamsburg. The room is normally kept locked and is off limits to residents, a building worker said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t have any information of what happened. We are still in the dark,\u201d the relative said. \u201cShe\u2019s a good person. That\u2019s just number one, she\u2019s a really good person.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was a caring and loving mother,\u201d another relative added.<\/p>\n
Montgomery lived in the Gowanus Houses, nearly four miles from where she was found dead.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was my friend,\u201d said the victim\u2019s next-door neighbor, who declined to give her name. \u201cI knew her since I\u2019ve been in the building, for seven years. She\u2019s funny. It\u2019s just shocking to hear what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim worked for Amazon and \u201cwas making valentine baskets, Easter baskets as a side hustle,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n
Residents of Borinquen Plaza were shocked a body was discovered there.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s strange,\u201d said resident Michael Batista, 41. \u201cThe building is good. I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s suprising.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s cameras and it\u2019s a big building,\u201d she added. \u201cThey have to find something.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rebecca Davila, 57, has been watching her back since the discovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was scary to go downstairs \u2014 you just can\u2019t believe something like that happened in your building,\u201d she said. \u201cIn the 15 years I lived here, I never seen anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
