{"id":120948,"date":"2026-02-03T04:08:19","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T04:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/120948\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T04:08:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T04:08:19","slug":"brooklyn-tabernacle-choir-wins-7th-grammy-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/120948\/","title":{"rendered":"Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir wins 7th Grammy Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to winning multiple Grammy Awards, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir was also invited to sing at former President Barack Obama\u2019s second inauguration ceremony in 2013.<br \/>\nPhoto courtesy Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir<\/p>\n<p>LOS ANGELES AND DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN \u2014 THE ACCLAIMED BROOKLYN TABERNACLE CHOIR ON SUNDAY, FEB. 1 WON ITS SEVENTH GRAMMY AWARD,  <a href=\"https:\/\/singingnews.com\/news\/brooklyn-tab-takes-home-grammy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SINGING NEWS reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The pioneer choir, which has expanded over more than five decades from a small nine-member group into a major ethnically-diverse ensemble, is bringing home the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album for \u201cI Will Not Be Moved: Live with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.\u201d The choir was presented with the prize during the 68th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, held in Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble is a blend of singers with a deep faith and classical training. The album includes several songs already familiar to Christian music genre listeners, as well as new songs that TBTC\u2019s founding director, Carol Cymbala, has either written or co-written, and features artists Stephen McWhirter, Babbie Mason, Brad Hudson and TaRanda Greene.<\/p>\n<p>Since going into ministry with her husband, Pastor Jim Cymbala, and establishing the choir in 1973, Carol Cymbala has written hundreds of songs and recorded thirty albums, seven of which have won Grammy Awards.
