New York State will invest $600 million during the 2026 construction season to repave roadways, including $46 million in the Finger Lakes Region<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gov. Kathy Hochul\u2019s office said the investment represents the most ambitious infrastructure resurfacing agenda ever implemented by the Department of Transportation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are 180 projects scheduled, impacting 2,150 lane miles across the state.\u00a0 That includes 359 lane miles in the Finger Lakes Region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese infrastructure improvements make our roads safer and improve the traveling experience for motorists across Monroe County<\/a>,\u201d County Executive Adam Bello said in a news release.<\/p>\n

The largest investment in the county will be made on Interstate 490<\/a>, with $8.8 million earmarked for resurfacing the roadway through Gates, Chili, Churchville and Riga between exit 2 (Route 33A) and exit 6 (Route 204).<\/p>\n

Two other notable projects for the region include $4.4 million to repave Route 104 between Furnace and Pound roads in Ontario and Williamson, and $2.8 million for upgrades on Lyell Avenue between Washington Street and Howard Road in Gates.<\/p>\n
