STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Senior Danny Garcia poured in a game-high 17 points on the strength of five three-pointers as Tottenville stunned host Curtis via a 49-45 non-league triumph on Monday in St. George.<\/p>\n
The Pirates, who watched Garcia hit a layup at the buzzer during a 53-52 PSAL 3A victory over visiting AP Randolph on Saturday, won their fourth straight to improve to 15-8 overall.<\/p>\n
Elias Souleidis and Antonio Tarantino added 11 points apiece for head coach Kevin Alesi\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n
Jayden Melendez, Jayden Faulkner and Amare Gaskin paced the Warriors (4-18 overall) with 10 points each.<\/p>\n
Curtis owned a 15-10 lead after one period, but the Pirates outscored the Warriors, 30-13, through the middle two quarters to grab control.<\/p>\n
Garcia drained four second-quarter three-pointers and Tarantino added nine markers as Tottenville built a 40-28 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n
Although the Warriors refused to go quietly behind Faulkner and Melendez (combined 10 fourth-quarter points), the 6-foot-4 Souleidis tallied nine late to help the Pirates hold on.<\/p>\n
CSIM 41, New Utrecht 40<\/p>\n
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Daniel Zajonc tied a career high with 12 points and Xavier Farley turned in an all-around, strong game as the Dragons squeezed out the non-league victory over the visiting Utes on Monday.<\/p>\n
Farley not only chipped in with eight points, but grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked five shots and dished out five assists for CSIM (10-11 overall).<\/p>\n
Danny O\u2019Connor (10 points) and Patrick Tucker (seven points) also contributed on the offensive end.<\/p>\n
The Dolphins trailed 31-29 entering the final period, but they held the Utes to nine points during the last eight minutes.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Connor, meawhile, drained a pair of threes and Jebreal Alhumaidi added another as the New Springville school outscored NU 12-9 to earn the victory.<\/p>\n
Petrides 54, Fort Hamilton 47<\/p>\n
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Daynell Rowland scored a game-high 22 points and the Panthers turned up the heat defensively in the fourth quarter as they squeezed out the non-league victory over the visiting Tigers on Monday.<\/p>\n
Kareem Nesbitt and Aiden Gonzalez added eight points apiece for Petrides, which improved to 6-17 overall. <\/p>\n
The Panthers trailed 42-41 entering the final eight minutes when they turned in their finest defensive quarter as the limited the Tigers to just five points.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, Petrides had six different players contribute points in the fourth to help pull out the victory. Rowland tallied three, Jaiden Brown buried a trey and Darien Niles, Jason Dennis and Gonzalez added a bucket apiece to help provide the final score.<\/p>\n
Brooklyn College Academy 77, Eagle SI 60<\/p>\n
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Juneek Daniels recorded a double-double, include a career-high 25 points, but Eagle dropped the non-league decision to BCA at the Dreyfus Intermediate School in Stapleton on Monday.<\/p>\n
Daniels also grabbed 16 rebounds for the hosts.<\/p>\n
Justin Webley added 13 points and Javon Jordan and Armani Perez tallied nine apiece as Eagle SI dropped to 7-16 overall.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the combined 20 points of Danels and Webley, Eagle raced to a 35-31 advantage at intermission. <\/p>\n
But Abdoul Sissoko (22 points, 6 for 6 FTs) and Kurvalle Lindow (19 points) led a second-half surge that saw the visitors (17-5) take a 50-46 lead into the fourth.<\/p>\n
Although it still went back-and-forth for some time, BCA rode the free-throw shooting of Sissoko to the victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouldn\u2019t be more proud of my team for the way they competed,\u2019’ said Eagle head coach Justin Spisto. \u201dIt was a back-and-forth game until they pulled away in the fourth.”<\/p>\n

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Eenej Vinson scored a team-high 17 points and the Mavericks held a lead for the majority of the game before dropping the CHSAA A decision to the visiting Rams in overtime on Sunday.<\/p>\n
In addition to Vinson, Moore received nine points apiece from Nick DeGrado and Matt Gibbons (9 of 10 FTs) while Matt Mieles chipped in with seven.<\/p>\n
The Mavericks dropped to 3-15 overall, including 2-12 in league play, but have been competitive in the majority of their losses.<\/p>\n
Thanks mostly to Vinson, Gibbons and DeGrado, Moore owned leads at halftime (24-22) and through three quarters (40-32).<\/p>\n
But thanks mostly to leading scorer Brian Kapfer (game-high 25 points) and Liam Farrell (16 points), the Rams outscored Moore 16-8 in the final quarter to force overtime. <\/p>\n
