STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 A 19-year-old man and his accomplices stole a victim\u2019s sneakers during a violent robbery and broke into multiple vehicles on Staten Island, authorities allege.<\/p>\n
Elijah Bryant, of Brewster Street in Stapleton, and his accomplices netted thousands of dollars in cash and other valuables from multiple vehicles between February 2025 and Jan. 9, 2026, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
The robbery occurred on the 1400 block of Castleton Avenue in Port Richmond at about 4 p.m. on Dec. 21, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim was a 19-year-old man, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.<\/p>\n
Bryant and an unapprehended individual allegedly pushed the victim and stole Air Jordan Bugs Bunny sneakers.<\/p>\n
As the victim tried to stop Bryant and his accomplice from leaving, the accomplice placed his hand in his jacket and imitated having a firearm, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t follow us,\u201d the accomplice allegedly said. \u201cLet us go or I will boom you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bryant has been charged with robbery, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, menacing and harassment in connection with the robbery.<\/p>\n
The victim did not report any injuries to police.<\/p>\n
Vehicles burglarized<\/p>\n
Bryant and his accomplices broke into commercial and private vehicles all over the Island, the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n
The most recent incident occurred on Jan. 9 at about 2:50 a.m. in the vicinity of Middle Loop Road and Armstrong Avenue in Great Kills. The defendant and two other unapprehended individuals entered the vehicle and stole property valued at over $1,000, the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n
Some of the heists or attempts were on or around holidays in 2025, police said.<\/p>\n
In an incident on Dec. 24, Bryant and two unapprehended individuals allegedly made their way into a commercial vehicle on Adlai Circle and Pompey Avenue in Eltingville at about 3:15 a.m. The criminal complaint does not indicate that anything was removed from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The complaint alleges that the defendant and two unapprehended individuals broke into three vehicles in Fort Wadsworth and Rosebank in about 15 minutes on Memorial Day, May 26. All of the locations were near Tompkins Avenue.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was breaking into cars and stealing stuff,\u201d the criminal complaint alleges that Bryant told police about the May thefts. \u201cI remember going to that neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n
The blitz began at about 4:55 a.m. on Garfield Avenue where the trio entered a red 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then removed $750 and a bottle of cologne, police allege.<\/p>\n
At 5:10 a.m. on Beethoven Street, the trio made their way into a white 2017 Range Rover, police said. They allegedly took $2,050 and Burberry sunglasses.<\/p>\n
At about 5:15 a.m., the group struck on James Place, where they swiped $2 and a Social Security card from a black 2022 Kia, police allege.<\/p>\n
Additional heists<\/p>\n
The criminal complaint details additional alleged incidents of car hopping. <\/p>\n
The defendant and two other individuals allegedly removed three credit cards from a victim\u2019s vehicle on Oct. 26 at about 3 a.m. on Norwalk Avenue and Manor Road in Castleton Corners.<\/p>\n
Bryant was allegedly part of a trio that stole a wallet containing seven credit cards from a victim\u2019s vehicle on Winfield Street near Olympia Boulevard in South Beach on Oct. 17.<\/p>\n
Over $3,000 was removed by Bryant and an accomplice in a heist on Feb. 18 at about 5 a.m. on Narrows Road North near St. Johns Avenue in Arrochar, police allege.<\/p>\n
The defendant has been charged with grand larceny, attempted burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Bryant is being held at Rikers Island in lieu of bail set at $30,000 bond\/$15,000 cash. His next date in Criminal Court in St. George is Feb. 26, according to public records. The robbery case is in the process of being transferred to state Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
