President Trump again weighed in on the New York City mayoral race Wednesday, giving a brutal prognosis of Republican Curtis Sliwa\u2019s election chances and declaring he\u2019d rather see a Democrat than a \u201cCommunist\u201d in charge at City Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf [Sliwa] dropped out, he\u2019s not going to win \u2014 and not looking too good for Cuomo either,\u201d Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, referring to Republican nominee Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat who is running as an independent.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut maybe, I don\u2019t know, if he dropped out, maybe Cuomo would have a little bit of a chance, but not much, because it looks like the lead is, it\u2019s not a great lead, but it\u2019s big enough that he should be able to win,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

President Trump declared that Curtis Sliwa is \u201cnot going to win.\u201d Robert Miller<\/p>\n

Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani\u00a0holds a double-digit lead<\/a>\u00a0with 43.2%, while Cuomo trails at 28.9% and Sliwa grabs 19.4%, according to the latest polls.<\/p>\n

The margin would shrink dramatically if Sliwa exited the race: Cuomo would be just four points behind Mamdani, within the survey\u2019s margin of error.<\/p>\n

Sliwa, famous for his red beret and Guardian Angels activism, insists he\u2019s staying in the race despite mounting calls for him to step aside and let anti-Mamdani votes consolidate behind Cuomo.<\/p>\n

With just two weeks before Election Day, Trump has not officially made an endorsement in the race as he bashed Mamdani, calling him a \u201cCommunist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I don\u2019t know that I want to get involved. It\u2019s really a question of, would I rather have a Democrat or a Communist?
