If you swing the bat from the right side, the New York Yankees<\/a> might come calling.<\/p>\n

All their remaining free agent pursuits pretty much come down to that, and one of their former promising prospects might fit the ball.<\/p>\n

Miguel Andujar is in play, according to insider Joel Sherman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Andujar ended last season with the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> and is now a free agent still awaiting a new home.<\/p>\n

“Miguel Andujar\u00a0is going to find a home, maybe partly because\u00a0Rob Refsnyder\u00a0helped to define the market for right-handed hitters who mash lefties, with his one-year, $6.3 million deal with the Mariners,”\u00a0ESPN’s Buster Olney wrote earlier this offseason<\/a>. “Last season, Andujar blistered left-handers for a .389\/.409\/.578 and wasn’t bad against right-handers, either: .290\/.331\/.429. Andujar also has a reputation for being a great clubhouse guy; both the A’s and Reds spoke very highly of their experience with him. But like (Luis) Arraez, Andujar is viewed as someone who doesn’t have a landing spot on the field.”<\/p>\n

Andujar’s overall statline in 2025 included a .318 average and .822 OPS.<\/p>\n

He has played third base and the corner outfield spots in his career.<\/p>\n

The Yankees have lefty bats everywhere. Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham, Ryan McMahon and Ben Rice all play spots that Andujar can play, and all bat lefty. The switch-hitter Jasson Dominguez is also much worse against left-handed pitching.<\/p>\n

Andujar has had a long list of suitors all offseason, according to various reports, and nothing has gotten done. But the Yanks might be arriving just in time. If Andujar doesn’t feel too badly about how things ended in the Bronx, maybe he’d be up for a reunion.<\/p>\n
