The representatives for three state Legislature seats were decided Tuesday evening in special elections in Manhattan and Queens.<\/p>\n
The seats that were up for election were in the 36th Assembly District in Queens, the 74th Assembly District in Manhattan and the 47th Senate District in Manhattan.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s a recap of who won, and check out the results page\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n 36th Assembly District in Queens<\/p>\n Democrat Diana Moreno is the projected winner in the race for the 36th state Assembly in Queens, according to The Associated Press.<\/p>\n Moreno ran against Rana Abdelhamid, who was on the “Queens for All” Party line, and Mary Jobaida, who was on the “People First” Party line.<\/p>\n The Queens district covers much of western and central Astoria, Ditmars, Astoria Heights and northern Long Island City.<\/p>\n Zohran Mamdani, who won the position in 2020, vacated the Assembly seat when he became mayor<\/a>.<\/p>\n 47th Senate District in Manhattan<\/p>\n Democrat Erik Bottcher is the projected winner in the race for the 47th state Senate District in Manhattan, according to The Associated Press.<\/p>\n Bottcher ran against Charlotte Friedman, who was on the Republican Party line.<\/p>\n The Manhattan district includes neighborhoods such as Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Hell\u2019s Kitchen and the Upper West Side, along with part of Central Park.<\/p>\n
