JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens (PIX11) \u2014 A 17-year-old student is accused of sending antisemitic emails about killing Jews to multiple people in his Queens high school, according to police and sources. <\/p>\n
The teen allegedly sent threatening messages to several people at Renaissance Charter School at 35-59 81st. St. in Jackson Heights at around 12:34 p.m. Monday, according to the NYPD. <\/p>\n
The emails referenced killing Jews, sources said. It was unclear to whom the messages were sent. <\/p>\n
The student was arrested a few hours later and charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime and making a terroristic threat, police said. <\/p>\n
There have been 22 hate crime incidents reported citywide this year, according to NYPD data. <\/p>\n
Last week, a New Jersey man allegedly rammed his car<\/a> into the Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters in Crown Heights, authorities said. Dan Sohail, 36, of Carteret, is accused of driving his dark-colored 2012 Honda Accord into the synagogue at 770 Eastern Parkway five times at around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the NYPD. <\/p>\n The building was packed with people attending a religious service. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
