De QUEEN, Ark. — Three people have been arrested on first-degree murder and battery charges after three juveniles were shot Monday night in the city.<\/p>\n

One 16-year-old victim died Tuesday, De Queen Police Chief Scott Simmons said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The other shooting victims remain hospitalized, Simmons said. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

Kaytlon Huesca, 18, Tristan Mendoza 21, and a juvenile are charged with murder, battery and firing a weapon from a vehicle, according to police.<\/p>\n

Huesca is being held in the Sevier County jail. Mendoza was arrested in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. The juvenile is at a juvenile detention center.<\/p>\n

Juveniles are held in various JDCs in the state.<\/p>\n

Simmons declined to comment on a motive for the crime.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened at 9:05 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Vandervoort Avenue. De Queen Police and Sevier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting and called the Arkansas State Police to assist in the investigation, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

At the scene, officers discovered three male juveniles with gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to Sevier County Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Numerous spent shell casings were found at the scene. Several suspects were identified through the course of the investigation, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
