STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Senior Nico Parlanti tallied a team-high 21 points, but St. Peter\u2019s couldn\u2019t protect a fourth-quarter lead and dropped a 66-60 CHSAA AA overtime decision to visiting Xaverian on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Aaron Vazquez, Tyler Schoenberg and Noah Scott teamed for an additional 22 points for the Eagles, who dropped to 9-11 overall after suffering their second consecutive loss. Head coach Ryan Woods\u2019 team will now direct its attention to Saturday\u2019s SIHSL Tournament quarterfinals.<\/p>\n
Senior Christian Hinestroza finished with a game-high 26 points as the Clippers improved to 13-8 overall, including 8-6 in league play.<\/p>\n
St. Peter\u2019s found itself down 32-30 at intermission, but it tightened things up defensively by limiting the Clippers to just two points in the third quarter. In the meantime, Parlanti and Sean Gannon each knocked down threes to help the Eagles build a 40-34 advantage heading into the fourth.<\/p>\n
But Hinestroza tallied eight while David Duncan (21 points) and Kyle Robinson (10 points) teamed for another 10 points as the Clippers forged a 56-56 tie through regulation.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for the Eagles, Hinestroza tallied 9 of 10 points in overtime and the Clippers held on for the come-from-behind victory.<\/p>\n
St. Edmund\u2019s 64, Farrell 50<\/p>\n
BROOKLYN, N.Y. \u2014 The Lions uncharacteristically fell behind by double digits by halftime and never recovered as they dropped the CHSAA A division encounter to the host Eagles on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Junior Mike Abreu and Jack Gomez led the way with 14 points apiece and Matt Scalisi added 11 as the Lions had their six-game winning streak snapped dating back to Jan. 9. The Oakwood school dropped to 12-8 overall (9-7 CHSAA) as they now look toward Saturday\u2019s SIHSL Tournament quarters.<\/p>\n
Tristian Lewis led the way for St. Edmund\u2019s with 28 points, including a pair of three-pointers and an impressive 16-for-18 performance from the free-throw line. Kenyatta Wilkinson added 14 markers for the Eagles, who improved to 11-9 overall (6-8 league).<\/p>\n
The Lions only trailed 12-8 after one period, but St. E\u2019s rode the play of Lewis (nine points) to a 38-28 halftime lead.<\/p>\n
Lewis, as it turned out, was only just beginning to heat up as he sank 15 of 17 freebies and 17 points overall after halftime. The Eagles lead ballooned to 48-30 through three periods and they never looked back.<\/p>\n
South Shore 76, Curtis 57<\/p>\n
BROOKLYN, N.Y. \u2014 Junior guard Makhiye Washington scored a game-high 18 points, but the Warriors found themselves behind the eight ball early before dropping a PSAL 4A decision to the host Vikings on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Curtis Tiu added 15 points and Jayden Faulkner chipped in with 12 for the St. George school, which dropped to 4-19 overall (2-12 PSAL).<\/p>\n
