ABC News<\/p>\n<p>Photos captured state park rangers and staff members rushing to climb lift poles, scale the cables between the individual cabins and then use rope and body harnesses to meticulously lower each person to the snowy ground.<\/p>\n<p>The entire rescue mission at the mountain took five hours. No one was injured, authorities said. <\/p>\n<p>Although temperatures were below freezing on the slopes roughly 90 miles from Albany, the enclosed cabins stayed warm in the sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was sobering and something that I\u2019ll probably carry with me for the rest of my life,\u201d Kevin Bolan, a 64-year-old physician assistant and longtime skier, told the Associated Press. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou think nothing of getting on a lift or getting on a gondola, and now you\u2019re going to think twice,\u201d  he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dYou\u2019re going to make sure you go to the bathroom and maybe have a power bar with you and make sure you\u2019re prepared, just like if you were going into the woods on a hike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:0.69042969;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38404635\" width=\"407\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/nearly-70-people-rescued-gondola-120506211.jpg\" alt=\"Rescue workers on a snowy mountain assisting stranded skiers from a gondola lift.\" class=\"wp-image-38404635\"  \/>The entire rescue mission took five hours.
