STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.\u2014 Tourney magic was in full force Thursday evening, as Island teams advanced onto the next during an action-packed slate of the 2026 President Vito Fossella SIHSL Tournament.<\/p>\n

With their wins, Staten Island Academy, Curtis and New Dorp moved on to the quarterfinals, each aiming to knock off a top-four seed in pursuit of a semifinal berth.<\/p>\n

The Tigers were given all they could handle for three quarters by the underdog Eagles, but a masterful fourth quarter and a 30-point explosion from Gabe Moschella helped stave off the upset.<\/p>\n
