(WENY) \u2014 The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is telling residents to plan ahead. Starting late this week, every DMV office in the state will temporarily shut down for a major technology system upgrade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">According to the DMV, all in-person offices, phone support, and online services will be unavailable starting Friday, February 13 at 2:00 P.M.\u00a0The shutdown will continue through Tuesday, February 17.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">That means customers will not be able to renew licenses, register vehicles, process REAL IDs, schedule appointments, or complete any other DMV transactions during the outage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The DMV expects operations to resume at the start of business on Wednesday, February 18.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Anyone who needs time-sensitive DMV services is encouraged to complete transactions before the shutdown begins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Renata Stiehl HORSEHEADS, N.Y.
