A NURSE at a Bradford GP surgery has been awarded a very prestigious title.<\/p>\n
Naomi Smith has been presented with the Queen’s Nurse Award for excellence in patient care.<\/p>\n
Titled Queen\u2019s Nurse (QN), the award recognises nurses who have provided outstanding healthcare.<\/p>\n
Mrs Smith, a clinical general practice nurse manager at New Otley Road Medical Practice, is thrilled with her award.<\/p>\n

Nurse ensures patients feel ‘valued, listened to, and supported’<\/p>\n
“I was honoured to be awarded the title of Queen\u2019s Nurse, recognising my commitment to excellence in patient care and nursing practice,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Since joining New Otley Road Medical Centre and The Family Practice, I have continued to focus on improving patient experiences, ensuring individuals feel valued, listened to, and supported.”<\/p>\n

What is a Queen’s Nurse title?<\/p>\n
The Queen\u2019s Nurse title is granted to nurses, health visitors, and midwives who have showcased a high level of commitment to patient care and nursing practice after a minimum of five years working in the community, primary care, or social care.<\/p>\n

‘She did not judge silly questions’<\/p>\n
One patient, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: \u201cNaomi was able to tailor the care I needed after surgery to me and did all she could to keep me comfortable whilst in pain and always available if needed.”<\/p>\n
Mrs Smith offered “great advice on aftercare and genuinely cared, took the time to listen and understand what I needed to help me heal after surgery,” the patient added.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe did not judge silly questions but answered them ensuring I left comfortable and satisfied.<\/p>\n
“She even followed up about a scan relating to surgery after effects and helped me get an appointment.”<\/p>\n

What also stood out to this patient in particular was Mrs Smith’s ability to actually remember her patients.<\/p>\n
“She even remembers you each appointment whereas some nurses just want you in and out without looking at you,” they added.<\/p>\n
