{"id":127598,"date":"2026-02-09T15:27:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T15:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/127598\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T15:27:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T15:27:09","slug":"more-than-26m-in-federal-funding-headed-to-brooklyn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/127598\/","title":{"rendered":"More than $26M in federal funding headed to Brooklyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOROUGHWIDE \u2014 NEW YORK SENATORS ANNOUNCED more than $26.3 million in federal funding for Brooklyn projects on Feb. 4 as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations package signed into law the day before.<\/p>\n<p>The funding, secured by U.S. senators from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer, is allocated through congressionally directed spending and targets affordable housing, health care, cultural institutions and social services across the borough.<\/p>\n<p>The largest awards include $5 million for plumbing upgrades at New York City Housing Authority\u2019s Red Hook East Houses and $5 million for a RiseBoro Community Partnership affordable housing rehabilitation project. Additional funding includes $3 million for the Fifth Avenue Committee\u2019s Gowanus Green development and $1.18 million for neonatal intensive care equipment at One Brooklyn Health\u2013Brookdale Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Cultural and nonprofit recipients include the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, St. Ann\u2019s Warehouse and multiple housing and workforce organizations.
