The boroughs are experiencing a long stretch of the coldest temperatures in years.<\/p>\n
The city is responding by opening warming centers and warning buses across the five boroughs. A code blue remains in effect.<\/p>\n
The mayor announced on Monday that another New Yorker lost their life outdoors. The total number of outdoor deaths during the winter cold snap is up to 18.<\/p>\n
“Each life lost is a tragedy and we will continue to hold their families in our thoughts,” said the Mayor.<\/p>\n
Mamdani outlined the city’s efforts over the cold weekend to keep New Yorkers off the streets and in the warm.<\/p>\n
