A member of the Kansas State University men\u2019s basketball coaching staff was arrested early Monday morning for domestic battery.<\/p>\n
Mark Randall Vital Jr., 29, of Manhattan was arrested at 12:20 a.m. at 606 Vattier St., No. 2. He is charged with one count of domestic battery and was released from the Riley County Jail on a $2,000 bond.<\/p>\n
A Riley County Police Department arrest report listed a second arrest at the same address.<\/p>\n
Kristen Blake Whiting Daniels, 27, of Manhattan was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property. She was released from jail on a $4,000 bond.<\/p>\n
RCPD representatives confirmed the arrests are connected to each other but would not release further information.<\/p>\n
Vital, a graduate assistant for the Wildcats, joined the staff prior to this season after helping Baylor win a national title in 2021 when head coach Jerome Tang was an assistant under Scott Drew.<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-5 forward was a three-time All-Big 12 selection. He briefly played professionally, and was a practice squad tight end for both the Seattle Seahawks and the Kansas City Chiefs before reuniting with Tang.<\/p>\n
K-State did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats have struggled mightily this season, starting Big 12 play 1-9 after Saturday\u2019s loss at TCU.
