STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Sexually explicit videos involving a 4-year-old girl and an adult male were discovered in a cell phone a Staten Island man donated to friends, presumably unaware the images were still accessible, federal prosecutors allege. <\/p>\n
The defendant, Jon Consiglio, 39, was arraigned Jan. 28 in Brooklyn federal court on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, court records show. He was ordered held without bail. <\/p>\n
Consiglio\u2019s attorney, Samuel Jacobson with the Federal Defenders, declined to comment on Monday. <\/p>\n
If convicted of child sexual exploitation, the defendant is facing a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.<\/p>\n
Images discovered in cell phone: Feds <\/p>\n
In November 2025, Consiglio gave one of his phones away to a friend\u2019s girlfriend, authorities allege in court documents. <\/p>\n
In January, the friend\u2019s girlfriend passed the device on to a relative because she didn\u2019t need it anymore, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
The relative reported to police that she found two videos in the phone showing an adult man engaged in oral sex and intercourse with the child, the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n
One video was more than three minutes long and the other was more than four minutes, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n
FBI launches investigation<\/p>\n
Within days of the phone being turned over to police, members of the Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force<\/a> \u2014 a joint effort involving the FBI and NYPD \u2014 interviewed the three individuals who handled the phone after the defendant. <\/p>\n The individuals all recognized the girl in the video, and said the voice of the man in the video sounded like Consiglio, according to federal investigators. <\/p>\n A person known to the defendant then provided images of Consiglio\u2019s bedroom to compare with the videos. Hand tattoos visible in the videos matched images on the defendant\u2019s social media page, authorities said. <\/p>\n
