{"id":128726,"date":"2026-02-10T13:05:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T13:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/128726\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T13:05:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T13:05:08","slug":"news-12-the-bronx-226","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/128726\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | The Bronx"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A violent Throggs Neck robbery attempt that ended in the death of a 66-year-old man has been officially ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the two suspects approached Wesley James outside his home on Sept. 18.<\/p>\n<p>During the attack, they struck him in the face with such force that he fell and hit his head on the concrete.<\/p>\n<p>The duo fled the scene empty-handed after rummaging through his pockets.<\/p>\n<p>The head injury James sustained ultimately led to his death around two months later.<\/p>\n<p>News 12 attended his <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/family-gathers-to-honor-bronx-man-who-died-after-attempted-robbery-in-throgs-neck-attackers-remain-on-the-loose\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">funeral<\/a> in November, where his family continued their pleas for justice.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects involved remain at large.
