UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) — Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado and India Walton have suspended their campaign for governor of New York.<\/p>\n

Delgado announced the decision in a press release, stating there is no viable path forward for the campaign and expressing his commitment to continue working for a more humane, affordable and equitable state that serves all New Yorkers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve decided to end my campaign for Governor of New York. After much consideration, I\u2019ve concluded that there simply is no viable path forward. And though my campaign has come to an end, I fully intend to do all I can in our effort to build a more humane, affordable and equitable state that serves all New Yorkers. I will also support Democrats in our effort to hold the line against Trump and take back our democracy,\u201d Delgado said.<\/p>\n

Delgado thanked his supporters, campaign team and volunteers and gave special recognition to India Walton for sharing his vision.<\/p>\n

Delgado said he will continue to serve as lieutenant governor.<\/p>\n
