In an interview published Feb. 9 with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer broke his silence on being named in the Beckham family feud when Brooklyn Beckham posted shocking allegations against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. In a series of Instagram stories on Jan. 19, the eldest Beckham son, who is married to Nicola Peltz Beckham, claimed in part: \u201cMy mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where the scheduled was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.\u201d However, speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Anthony appeared to suggest that there\u2019s more to the story, sharing, \u201cI have nothing to say about what\u2019s happening with the family. They\u2019re a wonderful, wonderful family. I\u2019ve known them since before the kids were born. I\u2019m godfather to Cruz. I\u2019m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It\u2019s extremely unfortunate how it\u2019s playing out \u2014 but [how it\u2019s playing out] is hardly the truth.\u201d David and Victoria Beckham have not released a statement on their son\u2019s accusations.
