Cops released new pictures of two vicious muggers who pummeled a 66-year-old man in the Bronx \u2014 then tried to pick his pockets as he lay mortally wounded on the pavement.<\/p>\n
Wesley James had been walking steps from his home on East Tremont Avenue near Schley Avenue in Throggs Neck around 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18, when the muggers approached him and slugged him in the face, authorities and family said.<\/p>\n
James fell to the ground and hit his head, cops said \u2014 but that didn\u2019t stop the small-time crooks from trying to continue with the robbery.<\/p>\n

After the one mugger punched the victim to the ground, his pal went through his pockets but they ended up fleeing empty-handed, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
James was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition but his condition gradually declined until Nov. 3 when he succumbed to his injuries, cops said.<\/p>\n
His death certificate, finalized on Feb. 4, indicated he\u2019d suffered blunt force trauma, causing a brain injury, law enforcement sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The suspects tried to rob James but got away with nothing, cops said. NYPD<\/p>\n
No arrests had been made by Tuesday, cops said. NYPD<\/p>\n
The NYPD on Monday released photos of the two at-large suspects as they reclassified the case as a homicide. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
During his funeral in November, James\u2019 family called for justice for their loved one who was senselessly attacked just outside his home, News 12 reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n
