An Upstate New York woman is facing three felony charges after state police said she crashed her vehicle while driving with three young children and had a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit.<\/p>\n
Bianca T. Mann, 32, of Candor (Tioga County), was arrested Saturday after New York State Police at Owego responded to a report of a crash in the town of Candor. When a trooper arrived at the scene, a pickup truck was found unoccupied and resting against a set of trees.<\/p>\n
The trooper learned that a passerby had given the driver and three children a ride to Dandy Mini Mart following the crash. The trooper located Mann at the store and observed that she displayed characteristics associated with impairment.<\/p>\n
Mann was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which confirmed impairment, according to state police. The three children, ages 9, 6, and 1, were turned over to a sober third party.<\/p>\n
Mann was arrested and transported to State Police Owego, where her reportable blood alcohol content measured .22%, according to authorities. The legal limit in New York is .08%.<\/p>\n
She was charged with three counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger less than 16 years old, a class E felony commonly known as Leandra\u2019s Law. Mann received one count for each child in the vehicle.<\/p>\n
