On February 8, 2026, State Police with the assistance of the Watervliet Police Department arrested a\u00a014-year-old\u00a0for:<\/p>\n
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, a class \u201cD\u201d felonyReckless Endangerment, 2nd, a class \u201cA\u201d misdemeanorCriminal Mischief 4th, a class \u201cA\u201d misdemeanor<\/p>\n
A\u00a015-year-old\u00a0was also arrested for:<\/p>\n
Grand Larceny 3rd, a class \u201cD\u201d felonyCriminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, a class \u201cD\u201d felony<\/p>\n
On February 8, 2026, at about 9:26 a.m. Troopers responded to the Walmart parking lot on Hoosick Road in Brunswick for the report of a stolen SUV. Troopers patrolled the area attempting to locate the stolen vehicle and at approximately 10:39 a.m.\u00a0troopers\u00a0observed it driving on North Pearl Street in Watervliet.\u00a0A traffic stop was attempted, when the vehicle failed to comply a pursuit was initiated,\u00a0which was terminated by troopers shortly after when they lost sight of the vehicle. At 10:53 a.m., the vehicle was located by the Watervliet Police Department after crashing into another vehicle in the area of 2nd Street. The 14-year-old was identified as the driver, and the 15-year-old as a passenger; both were taken into custody.<\/p>\n
During further investigation, it was determined that while the pair was reportedly operating the stolen vehicle in the area of North Pearl Street in Albany, the 15-year-old allegedly stole an additional vehicle. That vehicle was located abandoned less than a block away from where it was stolen.<\/p>\n
Both\u00a0juveniles were transported to SP Latham for processing.
