Also dressed up at the event in costumes were McGriff and English as Thing 1 and Thing 2, which was also what the food theme was. The Chilton County Extension office dressed up as Old McDonald, Vicki Potts, Jemison City Hall Treasurer, was Mother Goose and a group of Jemison High School students was dressed as Alice in Wonderland characters. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, it ran smoother than any other year, and it was decorated beautifully,\u201d said McGriff. \u201cIt just came together smoothly and earlier; everybody just stepped up earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n
This event acts as both a fun family-centered night where parents can take their kids and let them have fun and as a fundraising event.
\nThe Fairytale Show is hosted in the Jemison City Hall events room, and the booths are set up around the room and on the stage with chairs in the middle to allow parents to monitor their kids from a sitting position. <\/p>\n
The event raised around $800 and with a $10,000 Community Service Grant presented by April Weaver, Jemison Library will put that money to good use in buying books and continually hosting free programs like Wednesday story time, crafts and painting. <\/p>\n
