{"id":130391,"date":"2026-02-11T20:12:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T20:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/130391\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T20:12:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T20:12:22","slug":"womens-lacrosse-wraps-up-opening-road-trip-at-hofstra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/130391\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s Lacrosse Wraps Up Opening Road Trip At Hofstra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>                    &#13;<br \/>\n                        &#13;<br \/>\n &#13;<\/p>\n<p>HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.\u00a0\u2013 The Manhattan Jaspers women&#8217;s lacrosse\u00a0team (0-2), finished their two-game road stint to open the 2026 season against the Pride from Hofstra\u00a0by a final score\u00a0of 19-5\u00a0at Captains\u00a0Field on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHofstra got out to a quick start, scoring five goals in as many minutes to put the Jaspers in an early hole.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWhile a man down, <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/julia-kerr\/12182\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12182\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Kerr<\/a> broke the ice for Manhattan midway through the opening quarter.&#13;<br \/>\n\tBefore the opening 10 minutes were complete, <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/naomi-aristone\/10187\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10187\" target=\"_blank\">Naomi Aristone<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/lauren-maher\/10235\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10235\" target=\"_blank\">Lauren Maher<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/audrey-ziff\/10217\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10217\" target=\"_blank\">Audrey Ziff<\/a> all caused a turnover.&#13;<br \/>\n\tZiff won a draw control in the second frame, but the Pride extended their lead out to 13 by the halftime break.&#13;<br \/>\n\tIt was Kerr who took hold of a draw control in the third quarter, while the defense held Hofstra to two goals in time for the fourth.&#13;<br \/>\n\tManhattan had their best stretch in the final quarter, with <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/ella-brunette\/12199\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12199\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Brunette<\/a> putting the Green and White on the board 46 seconds in.&#13;<br \/>\n\tMaher earned a free position opportunity shortly after, converting for the visitors&#8217; third score of the day.&#13;<br \/>\n\tBrunette tallied another while <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/ella-hirsch\/12181\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12181\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Hirsch<\/a> scored on a man-up sequence, ending Manhattan&#8217;s total at five.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>STATS AND NOTES<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tFreshman midfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/ella-brunette\/12199\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12199\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Brunette<\/a> led with two scores, also collecting a ground ball and two draw controls.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSophomore attacker <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/julia-kerr\/12182\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12182\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Kerr<\/a> shot the ball four times, converting on one and winning three draw controls.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSenior attacker <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/lauren-maher\/10235\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10235\" target=\"_blank\">Lauren Maher<\/a> won the most draw controls on the day with four, adding a goal to her stat line as well.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tSophomore attacker <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/ella-hirsch\/12181\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12181\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Hirsch<\/a> fired the most attempts with five, converting on one for her first goal of the season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSenior defender <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/naomi-aristone\/10187\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10187\" target=\"_blank\">Naomi Aristone<\/a> caused two turnovers.&#13;<br \/>\n\tRedshirt Junior goalkeeper <a href=\"https:\/\/gojaspers.com\/sports\/womens-lacrosse\/roster\/sophie-pasnak\/10241\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10241\" target=\"_blank\">Sophie Pasnak<\/a> logged ten saves through a full 60 minutes.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>NEXT UP:<\/p>\n<p>Manhattan will continue its 2026 campaign on Wednesday, February 18\u00a0when the Jaspers\u00a0open the home portion of their schedule,\u00a0welcoming the\u00a0Knights\u00a0from FDU to Gaelic Park.\u00a0Action is scheduled to take place starting at 1 PM and can be viewed on the Jasper Sports Network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Follow Manhattan Women&#8217;s Lacrosse on Instagram (@manhattanwlacrosse_) and X (@ManhattanWLacrosse).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                    Read Full Article<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13;
