James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey pump s\u2013t out into the streets and then they don\u2019t move, so the street sweepers can\u2019t even clean them up,\u201d a lifelong Bronx resident, who asked not to be publicly identified, told The Post Wednesday. \u201cIt smells like a chemical toilet and it gets worse in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand people need a place to live, but this is only getting worse,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, The Post revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/10\/us-news\/massive-illegal-nyc-encampment-thrives-near-citifield-draining-water-swiping-power-and-running-illicit-businesses\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">another illegal encampment<\/a> in the shadow of Citi Field in Queens, where dozens of families were living in trailers and motorhomes.<\/p>\n<p>The squatters there appeared to be running black market car service shops, by tapping into city electricity from utility poles and water from fire hydrants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe gave up calling the police,\u201d local business owner Luke Huwang said. \u201cThe police don\u2019t touch them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over at the Bronx encampment, 15 trailers and RVs lined Bronx Boulevard between Duncombe Avenue and East 211th Street, some of them equipped with security cameras and nearly all with solar panels and digital antennas.<\/p>\n<p>The stretch of Bronx Boulevard is lined with transients living in trailers and RVs. James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>The entire stretch of roadway was marked as a no standing zone.<\/p>\n<p>Jugs of gasoline and propane tanks sat outside many of the trailers, and several had generators running juice into the vehicles or nearby cars, several with out of state license plates or no plates at all.<\/p>\n<p>An old ambulance sat on jack stands, with a running generator outside, near two small cars and a Chevy SUV all with New Hampshire license places \u2014 with several people inside going silent and shutting off the generator when The Post knocked to speak to them. <\/p>\n<p>One man who emerged from an RV was asked if police ever came by.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, they don\u2019t bother us,\u201d he said. \u201cWe keep the place clean. There ain\u2019t no reason to bother us. I\u2019ve been to all 48 states for work and this is nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A decommissioned ambulance on Bronx Boulevard has transients living inside. James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>A nearby gas station appeared to supply the gritty encampment, selling everything from camping equipment to knives and brass knuckles for the RV squatters.<\/p>\n<p>Two blocks away, an old school bus parked on Gun Hill Road took the lawlessness one step further.<\/p>\n<p>The small bus was painted with marijuana leaves and a large sign that reads, \u201cthe Green Empress\u201d \u2014 and had a walk-up window where patrons knock when they want to buy weed.<\/p>\n<p>A man inside called the cost of a $10 joint \u201ca donation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s a stretch of the Big Apple where laws don\u2019t seem to exist.
