Friends and supporters gathered at Connolly\u2019s Times Square in Manhattan on February 3 for an event organized by Irish Pro-Life USA honoring pro-life leaders from Ireland and America.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Peadar T\u00f3ib\u00edn TD, leader of Aont\u00fa, accepted the Distinguished Leadership Award. T\u00f3ib\u00edn was in the United States to launch Friends of Aont\u00fa USA and attend the March for Life in Washington, D.C., where he joined a delegation organized by the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America that met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Aont\u00fa, meaning \u201cUnity\u201d or \u201cAgreement,\u201d is a socially conservative, all-Ireland political party founded in January 2019 and led by T\u00f3ib\u00edn, operating in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Public Service Award was presented to Eileen Slattery and her late husband, Chris Slattery, founder of EMC Frontline, now part of CompassCare. Eileen Slattery accepted the award on behalf of herself and her husband.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe could not have done it without Chris and Eileen,\u201d said CompassCare Regional Executive Arlene Rotella.\u00a0<\/p>\n
CompassCare is a network of pro-life, faith-based pregnancy centers in New York that provide free, confidential medical services, including ultrasounds, STD testing, and abortion pill reversal information, to women with unplanned pregnancies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
