STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 An alleged mob boss from Staten Island who pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his parole has been sentenced to nine months in federal custody.<\/p>\n

Teddy Persico Jr., 62, of Todt Hill, learned his fate during a hearing on Wednesday in Brooklyn federal court. The government was seeking one year in prison. <\/p>\n

The new jail term stems from two encounters with alleged organized\u2011crime figures \u2014 one outside NYU Langone Hospital in Manhattan on Aug. 29, and another inside the restaurant Ponte Vecchio on Dec. 1 in South Brooklyn. <\/p>\n

Federal prosecutors alleged that both meetings were intentional and consistent with Persico\u2019s continued authority inside the Colombo crime family. Surveillance footage captured the exchanges, including greetings prosecutors described as showing associates\u2019 \u201cdeference\u201d toward him.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Persico Jr. was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a labor union extortion plot carried out by top leadership within the Colombo crime family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was granted supervised release last summer on the condition he avoid all contact with members of organized crime.<\/p>\n
