In an attempt to break a five-game losing streak, the Manhattan Jaspers look to get back in the win column Thursday against the Purple Eagles from Niagara. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard Brianna Davis<\/a>, averaging 14.0 points a night, including a Division I high of 28 points against Rider on Feb. 5. Her scoring average puts her in fourth place across the MAAC. Senior guard Hana M\u00fchl has helped spread the rock, with a nightly average of 3.8 holding second place in the MAAC. On the defensive end, Graduate forward Colette Mulderig<\/a> has helped anchor that end of the floor, with her 1.6 average on blocks putting her in second place across the MAAC, while a 5.8 rebound average keeps her in the top 15 as well. The Jaspers will look to take care of business before wrapping their brief homestand against Canisius on Saturday (Feb. 14).<\/p>\n

Scouting the Opposition:

\n\u00a0 \n<\/p>\n

\u2022Off to rough sleddings in 2025-26, the Niagara Purple Eagles are winless in their first 23 games of the season.<\/p>\n

\u202214 of those losses have come in the MAAC slate, with their closest loss coming by five points in a home bout against Sacred Heart.<\/p>\n

\u2022Niagara is led by Senior guard Talia Dial, averaging 12.8 points a night, posting in double figures in six of her last seven outings. She has also converted the highest number of three-point makes this season with 52, shooting at a .302 clip.<\/p>\n

\u2022Three other Purple Eagles average five or more points, led by Freshman guard Chasity Wilson (8.1) who also leads the team in assists with 1.5 a night.<\/p>\n

\u2022Graduate guard Caliana Fenceroy is tied with Freshman forward Kenedie Haruna in the next slot, as they both average 5.5 points.<\/p>\n

\u2022Graduate forward Tyasia Freeman is the team’s leading rebounder, pulling down 4.7 per game, with a season-high of 11 against Ohio State on Nov. 30.<\/p>\n

\u2022Niagara was selected to finish in 11th place in this year’s edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll.<\/p>\n

\u2022Due to a 2-18 record in the MAAC schedule, Niagara did not qualify for the 2025 MAAC Championship in Atlantic City.<\/p>\n

\u2022The Purple Eagles won two Division I games last season, against Iona and Rider.<\/p>\n

\u2022This will serve as the 72nd matchup between Niagara and Manhattan, with the Jaspers taking the win in five of the last six meetings.<\/p>\n
