NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 The Diocese of Brooklyn announced on Wednesday the closure of seven Catholic elementary schools in Brooklyn and Queens at the end of the school year.<\/p>\n
The diocese cited declines in enrollment and ongoing financial issues.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decision to close them was made only after careful consideration and with great sorrow,\u201d Deacon Kevin McCormack, Superintendent of Schools, said.<\/p>\n
