STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 When Logan and Brandon Auerbach launched Limitless Athletics in 2024, their goal was to offer a wide range of fitness services to the Staten Island community, including small-group HIIT classes, personal training, sports and athletic performance training, nutrition coaching and more.<\/p>\n
The brothers started small \u2014 training about eight to 10 clients on a regular basis at the Oakwood-based gym. But thanks to social media, word-of-mouth and a unique line-up of personalized workouts, their business began to steadily grow. <\/p>\n
\u2018A major part of our lives\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cFitness has always been a major part of our lives,\u201d noted Brandon Auerbach. \u201cOur dad was a personal trainer, and he instilled a love of health and wellness at a very young age. We\u2019ve always talked about opening a gym and when this space became available, we said, \u2018let\u2019s give it a shot.\u2019 Thankfully we\u2019ve been successful and are excited to watch this business continue to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n
Auerbach, 24, an engineer by trade, is currently studying for his master\u2019s degree. In addition to teaching classes at Limitless, he handles the business\u2019 finances. <\/p>\n
Program for FDNY recruits<\/p>\n
His brother Logan, 21, has years of experience in the group fitness industry and serves as the gym\u2019s head trainer. He recently obtained his list number for the FDNY, which encouraged the Auerbach brothers to launch a class at Limitless aimed at preparing recruits for the department\u2019s taxing physical exam.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the release of the new FDNY firefighter exam civil service list, many candidates are now beginning to prepare for the next steps in the hiring process,\u201d Auerbach said. \u201cThis workshop is intentionally timed to help candidates start their physical preparation early, giving them a strong foundation before entering the Academy environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Limitless\u2019 Fire Academy Readiness Workshop Series is a six-week program focused on building the strength, endurance, work capacity, and resilience required not just to pass entry tests, but to sustain performance under fatigue, volume, and stress.<\/p>\n
The program is being led in collaboration with retired FDNY Captain and former FDNY Director of Health and Fitness, Rob Cefoli.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a comprehensive, progressive program geared toward teaching you the ins and outs of recovery, mobility, work capacity and endurance, how to use different tools and equipment \u2014 this is what we\u2019re looking for in the academy,\u201d noted Cefoli. \u201cWe have all these stages in this timeline of one to two years when you really need to dial in \u2026 because you\u2019re training to be an asset for the city.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop will run Sundays, from 7 to 10 a.m., spanning Feb. 15 through March 22. It includes progressive, academy-specific training sessions along with education on recovery, injury prevention and performance under pressure.<\/p>\n
An inclusive environment<\/p>\n
It\u2019s just one initiative that the Auerbach brothers are currently introducing at their gym. Limitless Athletics also works closely with special needs children and families through Self-Direction, partnering with various agencies to provide individualized fitness, movement, and wellness support in a safe, inclusive environment. <\/p>\n
