Alternate side parking rules will also be suspended for the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Residents who normally receive Monday sanitation service may place materials at the curb Monday evening for collection beginning Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The department said collection delays may occur following holidays and recent winter storms as crews work through backlogs.<\/p>\n<p>Although Thursday is recognized by the city as Lincoln\u2019s Birthday and is typically a sanitation holiday, officials said regular collection will take place that day because of the recent storm.<\/p>\n<p>Residents with Thursday service should follow their normal set-out schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Sanitation operates 59 district garages and manages a fleet of more than 2,000 rear-loading collection trucks, 450 mechanical brooms and 705 salt spreaders.
