Chinese owners, Anbang Insurance Group, spent around $2 billion for the renovations, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/real-estate\/waldorf-astorias-chinese-owners-plan-to-sell-nyc-hotel-after-extravagant-makeover-ccb3dcbb?gaa_at=eafs&amp;gaa_n=AWEtsqdF8fWQcgx8j4PDRRkGuFlyM9iUXythrBCdMTlShwhTZiou5Vr1YbOdZHmfWcA%3D&amp;gaa_ts=698e0cb3&amp;gaa_sig=hOiQYR3KeNurXhargkDT85wDyZhmK87rtgJWOcTxCQentLPMSKiGVOgcQ_w7pTNhuQxieWiThWveXwUpqs-jbg%3D%3D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wall Street Journal<\/a> first reported. <\/p>\n<p>The hotel&#8217;s restaurants and shops would be included in a potential sale.
