{"id":131806,"date":"2026-02-12T22:15:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T22:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/131806\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T22:15:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T22:15:09","slug":"these-10-cute-sculptures-have-new-york-art-lovers-in-the-pink-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/131806\/","title":{"rendered":"These 10 cute sculptures have New York art lovers &#8216;in the Pink&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">NEW YORK &#8212; Flatiron and NoMad are glowing pink!<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">If you&#8217;ve walked in these Manhattan neighborhoods recently, you may have noticed some new, pink sculptures perched on rooftops and across public spaces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The installation is called &#8220;Mr. Pink,&#8221; and as local leaders explain, it&#8217;s about a lot more than just art.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">You&#8217;ll find Mr. Pink, 10 versions of him in fact, at nine different locations in the Flatiron District and NoMad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">This latest public art project is rooted in &#8220;cuteism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;It&#8217;s about some whimsy, joy, mysteriousness, quirkiness and the artist Philippe Katerine from France has really embodied this,&#8221; said Flatiron NoMad Partnership President James Mettham.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">In the sculptures, some are made of resin, while others are inflatable and feature a scar on his chest, reflective of the human experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"NEW YORK &#8212; Flatiron and NoMad are glowing pink!
