Get ready for more Taco Fresco, Long Island.<\/p>\n

One year after the Sonoran-inspired taco spot opened in Babylon, Taco Fresco<\/a> is doubling its space to add dine-in seating for about two dozen\u00a0and also pursuing a liquor license, co-owner Mike Tochluk said. The expansion involves knocking down the wall to the neighboring space, a former salon, doubling the restaurant’s space from 600 square feet to 1,200.<\/p>\n

“It gives us an opportunity to expand on what we\u2019re passionate about doing, which is serving, hopefully, the best tacos on Long Island<\/a>,” he said.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Taco Fresco was named one of Long Island’s best new restaurants in 2025<\/a>. It’s the rare spot that makes handmade Sonoran-style flour tortillas to order, with a short menu of street tacos and mulitas (tortilla sandwiches). Currently, the spot is takeout-centric, with tight counter seating for a couple of people near its\u00a0Sonoran-style salsa bar, which offers\u00a0radishes, limes, salsa verde, pico de gallo and salsa roja for custom accompaniments.<\/p>\n

With the expansion, Tochluk expects to broaden the menu to include burritos, rice and beans as well as a\u00a0Sunday brunch menu with breakfast tacos and burritos. A liquor license will bring bottled beer, margaritas and the Mexican twist on Bloody Marys, micheladas.<\/p>\n
