U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service<\/a>, CS Beef Packers, LLC, is recalling about 22,912 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O145.<\/p>\nPeople infected with E. coli O145 typically can become ill 2-8 days after exposure. Most people develop diarrhea and vomiting, with some illnesses lasting longer and more severe.<\/p>\n
Vigorous rehydration and other supportive care is the usual treatment, as antibiotic treatment is generally not recommended.<\/p>\n
Most people recover within a week, but rarely, some develop a more severe infection, like hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure.<\/p>\n
The following products were produced on Jan. 14, 2026.<\/p>\n
Cardboard cases containing eight 10-lb. chubs of \u201cBEEF, COARSE GROUND, 73 L\u201d with case code 18601, \u201cUse\/Freeze By: 02\/04\/26\u201d and time stamps between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers placed on the outside of the case. The date and time stamps are also printed directly onto the clear packaging of the chub.Cardboard cases containing four 10-lb. chubs of \u201cFIRE RIVER FARMS CLASSIC BEEF FINE GROUND 73L\u201d with case code 19583, \u201cUse\/Freeze By: 02\/04\/26\u201d and time stamps between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers placed on the outside of the case. The date and time stamps are also printed directly onto the clear packaging of the chub.Cardboard cases containing four 10-lb. chubs of \u201cFIRE RIVER FARMS CLASSIC BEEF FINE GROUND 81L\u201d with case code 19563, \u201cUse\/Freeze By: 02\/04\/26\u201d and time stamps between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers placed on the outside of the case. The date and time stamps are also printed directly onto the clear packaging of the chub.<\/p>\n
These items bear establishment number \u201cEST. 630\u2033 inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to distributors in California, Idaho, and Oregon for further distribution to foodservice locations.<\/p>\n
The issue was discovered during FSIS testing at a downstream consumer, with sampling results showing the presence of E. coli.<\/p>\n
According to FSIS, there have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these items. Anyone concerned about illness should contact a health care provider.<\/p>\n
Any items in freezers should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.<\/p>\n
