{"id":132488,"date":"2026-02-13T15:05:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T15:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/132488\/"},"modified":"2026-02-13T15:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T15:05:06","slug":"more-nyc-ferry-routes-resume-with-some-stops-still-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/132488\/","title":{"rendered":"More NYC Ferry routes resume, with some stops still closed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NYC Ferry expanded partial service Friday as ice in the New York Harbor continued to break up, but many routes remain suspended, and riders have been warned to expect delays.<\/p>\n<p>After partially <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/news\/2026\/02\/11\/partial-nyc-ferry-service-resumes-some-routes-still-disrupted-by-ice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">restoring the Rockaway-Soundview route on Wednesday,<\/a> the ferry system added modified service Friday on the East River and Astoria routes.<\/p>\n<p>However, some landings continue to be impacted by lingering ice, and full service across the network has not yet returned.<\/p>\n<p>What You Need To Know<\/p>\n<p>Partial service resumed Friday on the East River and Astoria routes<br \/>\n<br \/>Landings still closed include Sunset Park\/BAT, Rockaway, South Williamsburg and Brooklyn Navy Yard<br \/>\n<br \/>St. George and South Brooklyn routes remain suspended<br \/>\n<br \/>Riders are advised to expect delays and check ferry.nyc or the NYC Ferry app for the latest schedules<\/p>\n<p>The Rockaway-Soundview line \u2014 which starts in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, extends down Manhattan\u2019s East Side to Lower Manhattan, cuts across to Sunset Park in Brooklyn and ends in Rockaway \u2014 is still skipping the Sunset Park\/Brooklyn Army Terminal and Rockaway landings.<\/p>\n<p>On the East River route, which connects East 34th Street to Greenpoint, DUMBO and other north Brooklyn waterfront communities, the South Williamsburg stop remains closed.<\/p>\n<p>The Astoria route, connecting Astoria to Long Island City, Roosevelt Island and Manhattan\u2019s East 90th Street and Wall Street, continues to skip the Brooklyn Navy Yard landing.<\/p>\n<p>All other routes, including St. George and South Brooklyn, remain suspended.<\/p>\n<p>Ferry service was <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/news\/2026\/01\/26\/what-s-open-and-closed-in-nyc-after-snow-storm-jan-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">largely halted on Jan. 27<\/a> due to large ice floes that made docking and navigation unsafe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been monitoring every landing to determine when and where we can safely and reliably restart service,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferry.nyc\/blog\/nyc-ferry-partial-service-tracker-for-friday-february-13\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NYC Ferry said in an update Thursday<\/a>. \u201cWhile some landings continue to see fluctuations in ice accumulation, others have become more consistently clear, making them reliable for NYC Ferry operations.
