NEW YORK (TNND) \u2014 Police in New York urged the public to help them identify a suspect who allegedly slammed a milk crate into a subway rider’s face and injured the man’s eye. <\/p>\n

The New York Police Department (NYPD) shared a screenshot of surveillance footage, showing the suspect near the crime scene. <\/p>\n

Authorities said the assault happened inside the Queens Plaza subway station on January 28, around 7:20 p.m. <\/p>\n

Investigators said a 27-year-old man was walking through a station passageway when the suspect approached him from behind and hit him across the face with a milk crate. The blow caused a laceration to the man’s eye.<\/p>\n

The suspect then ran away from the scene, said police. <\/p>\n

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and took the man to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Police described the suspect as a man who was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, black shirt, black sweatpants and brown shoes. <\/p>\n
