Like it was just angry,” Souder told The Post.

Souder, 27, a New Jersey native who moved into the prewar walkup in October with two roommates, took out her phone to capture the hateful hunk of metal.

“The main reason I was videoing actually, was to show my roommates because I wanted them to come home. I didn’t want them to think I was being dramatic,” she explained.

Her roomies called the building’s super, who instructed to keep the radiator’s valve open while she waited for him to arrive.

“When I went to turn the valve, it just flew off from the pressure. That’s when it started unloading with the water,” she recalled.

Just minutes later, her second-floor apartment filled with so much steam, she couldn’t see in front of her.

“I opened all the windows that I could and opened my door and I called my dad,” she said.

Upper East Side influencer Sam Souder went viral for filming her roommate’s radiator, which turned her apartment into a scary steam bath. J.C. Rice for NY Post

She then called the FDNY.

“People are like, ‘Why would you call the fire department?’ And I was like, ‘Because I was getting burned!’” she said.

“The fire department that came was very helpful and very kind. And they did tell me that it was a good thing that I called.”

The firemen saved the day by shutting “a valve on the bottom that cuts the water,” Souder recalled.

The maintenance man the building hired to fix it explained that a possible reason for the radiator’s reaction was that her roommate had been turning it on and off, which is not advised.

The temperamental radiator became a viral sensation, racking up more than 9 million views. Sam Souder/ Instagram

The next day, Souder, who also works as model, decided to post the video she had taken of the unhinged heater along with one of the FDNY arriving on her Instagram page — never thinking it would become such a hot topic.

“Why are you complaining you just got a free steam room,” one commenter asked.

“NYC apts are not for the weak,” another added.

Someone else joked that Souder, who pays $2,300 a month in rent, may now see an increase.

“Landlord raises rent for steam room amenity,” they quipped.

“People were so funny. Someone was like, ‘Oh my gosh, You’d better not have any wrinkles in any of the clothes in your closet,’” Souder said, laughing.

Souder even connected with the wife of one of the firemen in the video. Sam Souder/ Instagram

Through the post, she also made two new friends.

“I was reached out to by the girl who lived in the apartment before me, which was cool,” she said.

“And then the wife of the main firefighter in the video reached out to me too. She was like, ‘He’s very private and doesn’t have social media. But a friend of ours showed us this video and it made his whole year.’”

A demon radiator turned an Upper East Side apartment into a steam room from hell.
