A Cincinnati woman was fatally shot in the chest by her friend who suggested that they play \u201cRussian roulette\u201d with a revolver that he initially pointed at his own head, according to authorities.<\/a><\/p>\n

Omarion Horne, 23, was arraigned in Ohio state court on Friday<\/a> after he was charged with murder in connection to the shooting of Rachel Counts, also 23.<\/p>\n

Emergency personnel responded to a report of a shooting on the night of Oct. 5<\/a>, according to law enforcement officials.<\/p>\n

When first responders arrived at a home in the Winston Hills section of Cincinnati, they found Counts suffering from a gunshot wound, according to CBS News. <\/a><\/p>\n

Cincinnati firefighters attempted to resuscitate her, but to no avail. Counts was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

A subsequent investigation found that Counts was with Horne and their respective partners as the four were playing cards at the home.<\/p>\n

At one point, Horne allegedly pulled out his revolver and suggested to his friends that they play \u201cRussian roulette\u201d \u2014 a game that entails loading the gun with a single bullet, spinning the cylinder and then pulling the trigger while pointing the weapon at someone.<\/p>\n

Horne aimed the gun at his own head, though it is unclear if he pulled the trigger, law enforcement officials said.<\/p>\n

Horne is then alleged to have aimed the revolver at Counts\u2019s chest and pulled the trigger, resulting in the discharge of a bullet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sad that people use a firearm as a toy, because if these circumstances are true, this is truly a tragedy,\u201d Judge William Mallory said.<\/p>\n

Mallory set Horne\u2019s bond at $1 million. He is due to appear before a grand jury on Thursday.<\/p>\n
