Harry Derham was delighted after Queens Gamble put her \u201ctorrid summer\u201d behind her to win the BetMGM Agatha Christie Mares\u2019 Novices\u2019 Chase at Wincanton.<\/p>\n
The Joe Tizzard-trained Alexei was the big Wincanton winner with a Kingwell Hurdle victory that booked his ticket for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.<\/p>\n

But Queens Gamble\u2019s comfortable defeat of odds-on favourite Bluey in the Listed event under Paul O\u2019Brien left Derham delighted \u2013 with the Lambourn handler admitting he did not know if the eight-year-old would race again after illness.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had a torrid summer, a really bad bout of colic,\u201d Derham said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it means a lot for her to win again because, at one stage during the summer, we were wondering would she even come back into training?<\/p>\n
\u201cShe travelled beautifully, jumped great, and showed her class. Just to see her get another day in the sun was really special.<\/p>\n

Suggested that wins came in cycles, Williams, training her first winner for two months, said: \u201cYou say cycles, but I think I\u2019ve been riding a penny farthing actually!<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming. I\u2019ve kind of forgot what it was like, but we\u2019ve had a few that have been placed and run well.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so thrilled for the owners because they\u2019ve been very patient with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a long wait for them, but he\u2019s won quite well. It wasn\u2019t a scramble.\u201d<\/p>\n
Like London busses Deutsch and Williams then scored a second success as Camulus (5-2) took the Bet \u00a310 Get \u00a340 With BetMGM Handicap Chase.<\/p>\n
