SPRINGFIELD GARDENS, Queens (WABC) — A man is critical after being shot in the head during a dispute inside a Queens laundromat.<\/p>\n
It happened just after 8:30 Saturday morning. Police were called to the scene for an assault in progress at Wash and Fold Super Laundry on North Conduit Avenue in Springfield Gardens. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old who was shot in the head.<\/p>\n
Police say some sort of dispute started inside the laundromat and then spilled outside where the shooting happened.<\/p>\n
A witness described hearing one loud pop. Those who knew the victim say he has been working the overnight shift at the laundromat for about three years. His mother is also an employee of the laundromat and was there when her son was shot.<\/p>\n
“Call 911, tell them what’s going on, they pull up. There’s some guy doing compressions and we were checking his pulse. It’s a weak pulse. Finally, the paramedics and everyone come in,” said the witness.<\/p>\n
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, where he reportedly had to undergo surgery. Those who know him say he is a hard worker and a decent man who always showed up to work on time.<\/p>\n
It is unclear whether the victim knew the suspect or what the dispute was over.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
